The Southside “Showcase” began in 2003 as community resource fair
highlighting services offered by local nonprofits.  Since then, the
South Lansing Community Development Association has grown the event
into a full-fledged community festival, attracting thousands of
visitors each year and featuring a variety of exhibitor/merchant
booths, live entertainment, interactive children’s activities, and
great food.  This event easy on the wallet because admission,
entertainment, and activities are FREE!   Food vendors must offer at
least one item for $1 or less.  Merchant prices vary depending on
their products.  The event is easy for  families because exhibitors
provide activities, games and giveaways at their booths to keep young
ones occupied while adults get information.
