Community Gardens
South Lansing Urban Gardens (SLUG) currently has 4 community gardens under its wing. Click the pictures below for information on each garden, including location and registration forms!
Salvation Army Cavanaugh Park Jolly Grove A Garden of Grace
Thanks to the Garden Project for their assistance with these gardens. Anyone involved with SLUG wanting to register as a community gardener with the Garden Project can find information
here.
The garden serves as a community meeting space, with 16 10' x 10' plots open for families to grow food for themselves and their neighbors. These community garden plots surround 8 raised beds bursting with produce to be donated directly to the Salvation Army's new food pantry and free lunch program.
Comcast chose this site for their Comcast Cares Day, an annual day of service. Thanks to everyone who came out in the rain on April 25, 2011 and helped build our garden!

In an astounding effort to revitalize their park, the Cavanaugh Park Neighborhood Association has cleared underbrush, created walking paths, developed their own Master Plan, and is now gearing up to start a community garden.
The neighborhood wants to see the park used for positive activity. They envision a garden filled with friends talking and children playing while gardeners work to grow delicious food. This garden will serve as a neighborhood gathering place, featuring community plots, donation beds, and a large pumpkin patch.
The garden is located in Cavanaugh Park (at the end of Tenny St.) and space is filling quickly at the new garden. All community plots are 10' x 10'. If you are interested in becoming a part of this garden, simply fill out the registration form above.
