The Hawk Island Triathlon is a beginner-friendly event designed to welcome and encourage people of all ages, shapes, sizes and abilities as they venture into the world of triathlon. Experienced athletes say the Hawk is a great warm-up race for the summer triathlon season. We also offer a more challenging Olympic distance for those ready to hit the ground (swimming, biking, and) running!
Participants range in age from 8 to 80. In many cases, multiple generations of family members train and race together. To the extent possible, we will happily work with racers to accommodate mobility, visual and hearing challenges.
The Hawk Island Triathlon is now the largest sprint triathlon in Michigan, and one of the most popular Midwest triathlons for beginners. But hey, don't take our word for it. Check out what our racers are saying:
"Loved the whole vibe of this race! Everyone is happy to be there.""I was impressed with the sense of community around this race."
"I'm already training for another tri because my experience was so good with yours!"
"Everyone was so helpful and kind. What a great first experience!"
"This is a great race to open the season. See you next year."
What do you think? Are YOU ready to TRI it?
